About Suddenly Clean
Suddenly Clean is a family-owned house cleaning company that began in El Cajon in 2020, when Paul and Lina started taking on weekend cleaning jobs; the business was formally established as Suddenly Clean LLC in August 2022. What started small has grown into an experienced team backed by thousands of completed cleanings — and a company that keeps learning, improving, and building better ways to serve our customers.

The Idea
Before Suddenly Clean, life looked very different for our growing family here in San Diego.
My wife, Lina, was working as a Certified Medical Assistant for a private physician, while I worked in biotech and genetics. We were raising our family, expecting another baby, and certainly weren’t planning on building a house cleaning company.
But Lina had an idea.
More than once, she said to me, "We should start a cleaning business."
At first, that’s all it was. An idea.
Eventually, we became weekend warriors, picking up the occasional move-out or deep cleaning job for some extra income. We worked hard, learned as we went, and started earning the trust of those early customers.
Babies are expensive, after all.

The Turning Point
For a while, cleaning remained what it had started as — something Lina and I did on the side while continuing our careers and raising our family.
Then life changed the equation.
A few months after our daughter was born, we learned that my position was being eliminated along with roughly a thousand others. We had two months before my final day.
Suddenly, Lina’s idea didn’t feel quite so hypothetical anymore.
What comes next?
Lina and I have always been thinkers, planners, and doers. So instead of waiting for my final day to figure that out, we used those two months.
We started taking the idea seriously.
We educated ourselves, studied the cleaning industry, learned the market, and spent long nights trying to understand what it would actually take to turn the work we’d been doing on the side into a real cleaning company.
Somewhere in the middle of all that work, we realized this new company was also going to need a name.
Our friend Sarah jokingly pointed out the irony of two people coming from medical and biotech careers who were now, quite literally, suddenly cleaning.
The name wasn’t exactly the result of an expensive branding agency.
But the joke stuck. So did the business.
Before my final day arrived, Lina and I made our decision.
We were going all in.
The Foundation
Going all in didn’t mean stepping away from the cleaning. It meant getting deeper into it.
Lina and I were building a cleaning company, but we were also still learning what that really meant. So we did the work ourselves.
We cleaned homes. We tested products, supplies, equipment, and techniques. We paid attention to what made the work better, what made it harder, what customers noticed, and what we could improve the next time.
When something worked, we wrote it down. When something didn’t, we changed it. And when we thought we’d found a better way, we tested that too.
About six months after I left biotech, life threw us another curveball.
Lina was laid off too.
But this time, we weren’t standing at the same crossroads.
We had spent those months building Suddenly Clean together — cleaning, learning, testing, and turning experience into better ways of doing the work.
Now, with both of us focused on the business, we had the opportunity to keep building it together.
And somewhere along the way, something else started to click.
All those notes about products, equipment, techniques, mistakes, customer expectations, and better ways of doing things weren’t just helping Lina and me get better.
They were becoming something we could teach.
If what we learned lived only in our heads, the company could only grow as far as we could carry it. But if we could document it, improve it, and pass it on, another cleaning professional wouldn’t have to start from zero every time they joined Suddenly Clean.
We didn’t have a name for that philosophy back then.
We were just building Suddenly Clean.

We Learned Our Way Forward
Neither of us came from the cleaning industry.
So we learned.
Our education included a Cleaning Business Certificate Course through IAP Career College, but we didn’t stop there. We studied industry resources, training on cleaning methods and techniques, and the experience of professionals who had been doing the work longer than us.
At the same time, we were inside real homes putting what we learned to the test.
We experimented with products, equipment, techniques, checklists, and service scopes. What worked, we improved. What didn’t, we changed.
And the lessons weren’t always about cleaning.
Cleaning for a Reason
Through Cleaning for a Reason, we donated home cleanings to local cancer patients and learned that sometimes cleaning a home means much more than making it look better. Sometimes it means giving someone one less thing to worry about.
1,000+ Turnovers
Our work in vacation rentals taught us something different. After experiencing firsthand how far reality can fall from what was promised, we thought, we can do better. More than 1,000 turnovers later, we’d learned how much consistency, communication, presentation, and attention to detail shape a customer’s experience.
We brought those lessons back into the company.
Checklists improved. Service scopes became clearer. Expectations became easier to teach. What we learned became something the company could carry forward.
The goal wasn’t simply to become better cleaners.
It was to build a better cleaning company.
Learn. Improve. Build It In.
That’s still how we approach Suddenly Clean today.
We listen. We learn. We test what can be better. When something works, we improve it, document it, and build it into the way we operate.
We may never be finished learning. But we’ll never be finished getting better.
Built to make cleaning one less thing to worry about.
We understand the trust it takes to welcome someone into your home. That’s why we thoroughly vet each cleaning professional who joins and partners with us. Beyond providing quality service, we look at background checks, references, experience, and work history, along with clear expectations for professionalism, communication, and accountability.
We hold every cleaning professional to the same service scope and standards, while our operations team works behind the scenes to coordinate the details, support the cleaning, and help keep your service running smoothly.
Vetted Cleaning Professionals
Every professional we partner with goes through a background check, along with a review of their references, experience, and work history — so you can feel comfortable with who’s walking through your door.
Clear Expectations
There’s a plan behind every visit. Each professional works from a defined service scope, with the details of your service communicated ahead of time so everyone knows what to expect.
Easy to Manage
Your cleaning shouldn’t become another thing you have to manage. Scheduling, reminders, and coordination are handled for you — so you can get on with your day.
Consistent Standards
There’s a repeatable method behind the work. The same standards and checklists carry forward across every visit, so what we’ve learned becomes part of how every professional works.
Communication & Support

You’re connected to a company, not left on your own to coordinate everything. Confirmations and reminders keep you in the loop, with our operations team behind the scenes if anything changes.
Accountability
Someone takes responsibility for the finished experience. If something isn’t right, our team wants to hear about it — and following through is on us, not you.
The system should make the experience feel simple.
You shouldn’t have to manage your cleaning company. That’s our responsibility.
What Our Customers Say
A cleaning company should earn your trust — and keep earning it.
There are plenty of companies that can clean a home. We believe the difference is what happens around the cleaning — how you’re treated, how clearly we communicate, how consistently we show up, and whether we keep working to deserve your business over time.
Make home cleaning one less thing our customers have to worry about.
We build lasting relationships through dependable service, clear communication, thoughtful systems, and a commitment to bringing the same care and attention to your home over time that we brought the first day we walked through your door.
Raise the standard for what working with a home service company should feel like.
We believe great service is more than the work performed inside your home. It should be dependable, easy to manage, responsive when something changes, and supported by systems that strengthen the relationship rather than get in the way of it.
Learn. Improve. Build It In.
We don’t assume we’re finished learning.
We listen. We learn. We test. We improve. And when we find a better way to serve our customers or support our cleaning professionals, we build it into the way we work.
We learn it. We improve it. We build it into the way we work.
We want to earn your business on the first cleaning and keep earning it on every cleaning after that.
That means communicating clearly, making service easy to manage, paying attention to what matters in your home, and never treating a long-term customer like someone whose business we’ve already won.
Professional house cleaning, built around your home.
Whether you’re looking for ongoing help keeping your home maintained or need a more detailed one-time cleaning, we’ll help you find the service that fits.
